Speaking to UrbanABC the artist recounts; “Although I came very close to applying for university and pressured by everyone around me into another career choice, I never wanted to be like anyone else and I never wanted to be them. I wanted to show everyone that you can do something completely different and still be successful”.

The past three years have been a ‘real rollercoaster ride for Alexey’. His decision to create something extraordinary, a tattoo studio like no other, has brought forth completely different challenges. Acknowledging the upward trajectory and the struggles along the ways, Alexey says; “building my own studio has been by far the most challenging venture of my life. I set out to do something extraordinary, nothing like your normal tattoo studio, and with that comes completely different challenges. I’ve had to explore new areas of artistry and techniques and use my own initiative to make it work.
“Some days are easier than others but having the determination to carry on everyday to make sure it’s successful has been the most challenging thing for me but we’re almost there and I can’t wait to see where the studio is in another year”.
Resilience
In the spirit of reflection, Alexey admits that there are lessons to learn from past experiences but that keeping focused on where you’re going rather than where you’ve come from is key to personal growth and development.
“The lessons keep coming. Everyday is a new challenge and a new day to grow further – it never stops. I still see some of my early work compared to my new work, I feel proud of how far I’ve come but I’m going to push new heights with every tattoo that I do”.
Speaking to Alexey it was clear he is a man who truly believes in self worth and self appreciation, Alexey openly acknowledges; “one of the biggest lessons that I have learnt is not to compare yourself to other artists or others in your industry and not to be too hard on yourself. Everyone is on their own path and as long as you’re trying to be better than who you were yesterday then that’s all that matters”.
Work-life balance
Finding a balance between work and personal interests is crucial for a well-rounded lifestyle. Exploring hobbies and activities outside of work can provide a much-needed break and rejuvenate the mind and body. For Alexey, weight lifting and fitness have played a significant role in his life since a young age. This early introduction to physical activity has been instrumental in preparing him for the demanding work life he leads today. Although gym visits have been on hold, Alexey is committed to reintegrating them into his routine once life becomes more manageable.
A budding gamer, Alexey has found that video games have been a delightful escape from the daily grind. Between balancing physical fitness with virtual escapades, Alexey retains a well-rounded lifestyle amidst the demands of a busy work schedule. “I especially like open-world fantasy games. The immersive virtual world offer a temporary retreat from reality, allowing me to unwind and immerse myself in captivating adventures. Despite not having had the chance to delve into gaming lately, the allure of these fantastical realms remains a cherished pastime for me”.
