A vibrant new art gallery, Red Fine Art Gallery and Framing, is preparing to open its doors in Banbridge town centre. This gallery will be the creative home of the talented Northern Irish artist Ann Feely, formerly McCall and will be located within the family-owned Banbridge business, Downshire Interiors, situated on Townsend Street.

The upcoming launch of Red Fine Art Gallery is set to bring a wave of artistic inspiration to the local community. With a focus on showcasing Ann Feely’s remarkable work, this gallery will serve as a haven for creativity and expression in the heart of Banbridge. With a pre-opening event of Red Fine Art Gallery set to take place 22nd June as part of the annual BuskFest, the gallery will serve as a place where art lovers can expect to be captivated by the beauty and ingenuity of Ann’s creations, adding a touch of artistic brilliance to the cultural landscape of Banbridge.

Speaking to UrbanABC Ann said, “I’m originally from Lurgan and after 11 years in Belfast, it really feels great to be back on home turf! I am sure the people of Banbridge and beyond will love what Red is offering”

A former Community Arts and Development Officer with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, originally from Lurgan now residing in Belfast, in close proximity to the serene river Lagan, Ann’s artistic endeavors are deeply rooted in the natural magnificence that envelops her daily life. Specialising in oils and acrylics, Ann’s unique techniques are tailored to capture the essence of the places she explores, infusing each piece with her distinctive creative flair.

Ann continued; “I have many fond memories of the people of Banbridge, having worked with Council here over the years, teaching art as a guest artist in schools across Banbridge, delivering art workshops at the FE Mcwilliam Centre, the Town Hall and proudly as Lead Artist and Project Manager back in 2008 – 2010 for my public artworks in Solitude Park and Gate Lodge Memorial Parks”.

Immersed in the splendor of local wildlife, the majestic presence of trees, the tranquil flow of water, the vibrant flora, and the captivating Irish landscapes, Ann’s work resonates with the essence of her surroundings. Her creative mission transcends mere representation; she seeks to encapsulate the raw power, breathtaking beauty, and fleeting moments of nature in each of her creations. Through a harmonious interplay of spontaneity, unplanned elements, and deliberate design, Ann weaves a tapestry of artistry that mirrors her profound reverence for the natural world. Her artistic journey is a beautiful fusion of creativity and nature’s wonders. Ann’s paintings serve as a heartfelt ode to the beauty of the natural world and the harmonious coexistence of human creations within it.

Ann has meticulously crafted her artistic journey through the traditional realms of formal art education. Beginning with ‘A’ Levels, she delved into the intricacies of art and design, further honing her skills with a Diploma in Art & Design before achieving her BA Degree (with hons) in Textile & Fashion Design in 2002 from the esteemed Belfast College of Art (University of Ulster).

With a profound connection to nature, Ann’s artistic vision aims to capture the intricate elements and fleeting moments that make the world so enchanting. Through the medium of acrylic, she breathes life into her artwork, infusing it with movement and vitality. Each brushstroke of light, every splash of color, and the textures she creates on canvas are a testament to her passion for expressing the vibrant energy of nature.

Speaking ahead of the opening of Red, Ann told UrbanABC; “I’m very excited to be finally opening my own Gallery in Banbridge soon, a dream come true. Red will be home to my artwork and other leading Irish and International artists. There will be a quality bespoke Framing service for all your needs as well as gorgeous artisan crafts and homewares all available at Red.

Everything is carefully selected, high quality and affordable for everyone. As Red is based within Downshire Interiors, anyone needing quality window blinds and shutters… well it’s all here too under one roof!

I’ll also be offering advice to any young emerging professional artists out there who’d like help in navigating the arts sector, which took me years to do! When I left art college, I felt it was a minefield out there, not knowing where to go or who to go to for good advice. So I’m happy to help wherever I can”

Ann’s unique style resonates with viewers, drawing them into a world where nature and art intertwine seamlessly. Her ability to evoke emotions and spark imaginations through her artwork sets her apart in the realm of artistic expression. As an arts facilitator, Ann shares her creative expertise with others, inspiring a new generation of artists to explore the beauty of the world around them through their own unique lenses.

Ann concluded; “I have to thank my family and friends for all the encouragement and support. Eddie, Sean and Rachel at Downshire Interiors for all their help and support. And also special thanks to my arts agent Ray, who without his expert advice, guidance, practical help and encouragement and belief in me and helping to develop my arts career, Red would not have been possible”.
