We don’t know about you, but we absolutely love autumn here at UrbanABC. Our majestic parks come to life in a blaze of colour – shimmering proudly in their reds, golds, and greens – our favourite coffee and cake shops start adding pumpkin-spiced treats to their menus, and we can finally pull our cosy winter knits out of storage again.

It’s that time of year when we love heading out to the high street, markets, and malls in our bustling borough, too. A bit of retail therapy, whether that be a new scarf, a bunch of seasonal flowers, or a lazy brunch, really helps us unwind as the evenings draw in.

Read on to discover some stand-out seasonal shopping treats from each of our urban centres – and don’t forget to share your autumnal shopping favourites and hidden gems with us on social. Just tag us in your social posts using the hashtag #UrbanABC

Armagh City

Make sure to pay a visit to our wide choice of independent shops this autumn. Uniquely positioned between Armagh City’s two cathedrals, you can expect a strong side order of amazing architecture and a fantastic atmosphere along with beautiful floral displays and seasonal baked treats.

Banbridge

If it’s something special to wear, beautiful bouquets, or just-baked bread and pastries you’re after, then hit the one-off shops around The Cut. If you’re on the hunt for something special to adorn your home in style then pop over to the High Street and the Boulevard. Banbridge has even more high street style, beauty, homeware, and bargain goodies to explore.

Craigavon

Craigavon is not only the place to be for family fun this autumn with its cinema, bowling, trampolining, spectacular lake and water sporting adventures, it’s also home to Rushmere, one of Northern Ireland’s most popular shopping centres. Whatever tickles your family’s  fancy this autumn, we’re sure you’ll find it here.

Dromore

Dromore is home to lots of independent shops, brimming with unique homeware, gifts, and antiques. Have a browse, drink, or a bite to eat and make a lazy autumn afternoon of it.

Lurgan

Lurgan’s retail scene is cosy, quirky, and just perfect for exploring at this time of year. Pop on your scarf and hit the high street where you’ll find all you need and bargains to boot. Have a browse around the area’s arts and crafts shop – and show your support for our local artists – and grab a coffee  too.

Portadown

Sometimes nothing less than a big, bright shopping mall with everything you need under one roof will do, find all you need as you explore High Street Mall. Portadown has a bunch of bustling must-visits to its name, where you can pick up autumn fashion, homeware and groceries. The Meadows Shopping Centre, near the River Bann, has more shops and places to grab a bite to eat, close by – while the Magowan West Shopping Centre is a brilliant place for picking up a bargain and getting your grocery (and even Christmas) lists ticked off
