This Modern Mini Masters will introduce you to
the exciting Australian weaver and fibre artist Tammy Kanat. Taking inspiration
from Kanat’s ‘Circles of Life’ pieces, you will create your own circular
tapestry. Choosing colours to create a balanced and exciting piece, you will
work with a variety of different threads, strings and woven fibres. These will
be threaded, stitched or weaved onto a sieve creating a circular pattern.
Please note that this is not an embroidery workshop but an exploration of
textile art where the children will be ‘drawing with thread’. We will be using
bigger sized and child friendly blunt needles.
