Co Armagh artist Máiréad Duffy exhibits Memory Lane, a series of new works in acrylics and watercolours at the
Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre Foyer Walls from 4th March to
17th April 2023. Máiréad’s work is inspired by the local
environment, nature and the built heritage. Her landscapes include prominent
places on the Co. Armagh and Tyrone tourist map, Navan Fort, Armagh City,
National Trust Properties, Armagh Observatory, The Mall to name a few. She is also a keen wildlife painter of local
flora and fauna, birds and animals found in the Co. Armagh countryside. Memory Lane encompasses a range of
special memories for the artist from her childhood, spending time with her
grandmother. The paintings explore the places she used to visit around the Co.
Armagh countryside, memories of her grandmother’s cottage and tales about the
people and places familiar to her.
