Aonach Mhacha coffee shop is now opened under new management. Donagh Conroy Hannon, the proprietor of Perfect Blends Tea Room & Treasure on Thomas Street, Armagh has recently taken over the popular coffee shop located with Armagh’s cultural centre Aonach Mhacha.
Donagh is deeply connected to Armagh and is eager to showcase all it has to offer. Firmly embedded within Armagh City Centre for the past five years, Donagh’s experience and love for great food and community is set to breathe new life into Caifé Mhacha.
The latest edition to Armagh’s culinary collection opened to a fanfare on Friday 15th November with performances from none other than The Armagh Rhymers, The Pipers Club and The Portuguese Pipers.
Speaking to UrbanABC Donagh said “Armagh has always been a town of underrated beauty in my opinion and Aonach Mhacha is situated in the heart of it. The building has regenerated a derelict part of the city and has further developed the cultural way of life through arts and language.
I am very excited to be immersed in it. Some of my signature dishes refer to iconic buildings in Armagh including the ‘Cathedral Steps’ or ‘The Mall’.
Caifé Mhacha is here for all of the community to enjoy and I am looking forward to seeing all faces, familiar and new, over the coming days, months and years.”.
The coffee shop staff are fluent Irish speakers, inviting visitors to use their ‘cúpla focal’ and enjoy the unique experience of ordering in Irish.
