Tell us a bit about yourself and the business.

“I’m Phil Walker, the owner of Quails Butchers, based on Market Square in Dromore. At our shop, we’re all about using the best local produce in our recipes, which we cook fresh in our own kitchen.

“We believe knowing where our meat comes from is key, and we’re really proud of the quality we offer. What makes us different is our traditional methods for ageing beef, giving it a flavour you just can’t find anywhere else – that’s what makes us stand out from the crowd.

“We have a dedicated staff, passionate about food produce who pride themselves on delivering a quality service”.

How did the business start?

“It all began with a passion for quality food and a desire to bring something special to Dromore back in 1913.

“Our butchery and delicatessen business benefits from the expertise and values of the three generations who preceded us. Now, the fourth generation, Quail’s Dromore has developed a new concept in butchery, offering everything you need to create a gourmet meal at home”.

Why is shopping local so important?

“Shopping local is crucial because it keeps money in our community, which helps support small, grassroots businesses. These businesses are the backbone of Dromore, creating jobs and opportunities for people.”

Why is shopping local so important?

“Beyond the economic benefits, shopping local builds a sense of community. It’s about the pride our shoppers have in Dromore and how we work to create a sense of unity across the borough. When you shop here, you’re not just buying something; you’re investing in our shared future.”
