Following the overwhelming success of the previous event in June 2022, The Secret Gardens of Loughgall Event in Loughgall will return for 2025.

The Loughgall and District Improvement Association have announced the return of the popular Loughgall event, taking place on Saturday, 7th June and Sunday, 8th June 2025.

Loughgall boasts a rich horticultural heritage, sitting at the heart of County Armagh’s renowned commercial apple orchards. The village is home to a centre dedicated to scientific research on plant and mushroom cultivation, and just a mile away lies the headquarters of Northern Ireland’s largest vegetable growing and wholesaling enterprise.

Over the years, Loughgall has garnered numerous awards in best-kept and floral display competitions, showcasing its commitment to beauty and sustainability.

This year, Loughgall and District Improvement Association invite you to explore approximately 20 gardens that will be open for visits from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, 7th June, and from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, 8th June 2025.

In the past, the association have held the competition for the best floral displays visible from the street, but this time they are excited to unveil some of the village’s hidden treasures. The Secret Gardens event aims to raise funds for local charities while celebrating the beauty of Loughgall, both seen and unseen.

The charities benefiting from this event include the Loughgall and District Improvement Association, Alzheimer’s Society Northern Ireland, and St. Luke’s Parish Church in Loughgall.

In addition to the garden tours, attendees can enjoy a variety of attractions, including:

– Refreshments such as BBQs, teas, and strawberries with cream
– A plant stall featuring local flora
– Apple produce and local honey
– A vintage car display
– Exhibits of poultry and goats
– A hedgehog rescue initiative
– A bric-a-brac stall

Tickets purchased on the day will be priced at £10 per person, allowing access to as many gardens as you wish to visit. Each ticket will include a map and a list of the gardens. Open gardens will be marked by a red wellie boot at their entrance, indicating the garden number. Accompanied children under 16 can enter for free.

For those interested in saving, we will offer advance tickets at a reduced price of £7, available at the Village Shop and from Mervyn Walker, who resides on the Main Street.

Parking for cars and buses will be available at the Church Hall car park, which includes free bus parking in the Country Park. A £1.70 concession will be provided with the presentation of a purchased Secret Gardens ticket, which also includes bus parking.

Additionally, disabled parking will be available for free at RBP headquarters upon showing a purchased Secret Gardens ticket. Free parking is also available at the opposite end of the village at 45 Old Road.

Tickets can be acquired on the day from St Luke’s Church Hall, located at 50 Main Street, and at the 45 Old Road location.

Visit Loughgall for a delightful weekend filled with beauty, community spirit, and the chance to support worthy causes while discovering the hidden gems of Loughgall’s gardens.
