Although established in 2022, Sojourn Coffee represents a journey that began long before that. It is a reflection of my experiences and insights gained within the coffee industry over the years. The vision for Sojourn emerged from a dream of what a coffee shop could be—a warm and inviting place that feels like home. It’s not just about being family by blood; it’s about creating a community bound by shared experiences and a love for coffee.
Owner Harry McNeely opened the doors on Barrack Street, Armagh on 10th March 2022, marking the beginning of this exciting adventure. The response from the community has been incredible.
Harry’s love for specialty coffee ignited when he was just 18 years old. Since then, he has dedicated himself to learning everything he can about this fascinating industry. After four years of working in various coffee roles and saving diligently, Harry’s dream of owning a coffee house became a reality.
At Sojourn Coffee, the team believe that coffee is much more than just a caffeinated drink; it is an experience that tells a story. Each coffee they serve has a unique journey, reflecting the people and processes involved in its creation.
Harry says; “Within the specialty coffee world we often talk about Seed to Cup and so our job, as coffee brewers, is to bring everything together to make that coffee the best it can be”.
“On top of that, we have the honour of communicating to our customers the story of the coffee’s origin detailing the who, where and how. When you come to Sojourn we hope that you can feel at home for a little while”.
