Mark your calendars for Saturday, 15th February, from 10am to 4pm, and join Portadown’s arts venue Millennium Court for an engaging watercolour workshop led by the talented Daniela Balmaverde.
Daniela, is a visual freelance artist based in Belfast. Originally from Italy, Daniela, discovered a passion for art at a very young age. This passion led her to study in both Holland and Italy, where she earned a degree in Fine Arts.
Daniela’s work is deeply influenced by the contrasts that life presents. She explores themes such as the light of day versus the shadows of night, the balance between unconsciousness and intention, and the interplay between the primordial and the modern.
She enjoys blending figurative and abstract elements in my paintings, creating a unique dialogue between the natural world and her inner thoughts and feelings.
Through her art, Daniela strives to capture the essence of these contrasts, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences and perceptions. Each piece is a journey, a confrontation between the external environment and my internal landscape, resulting in a visual narrative that resonates on multiple levels.
In this workshop, Daniela will guide you through the process of recognising good subjects and developing your skills in a way that is both practical and inspiring. You’ll explore essential watercolour techniques that will enhance your ability to capture the delicate beauty of flowers on paper.
