Melanie Bond Boutique in Dromore is buzzing with excitement as it reaches a significant milestone – its first anniversary!  Melanie’s journey from a solicitor to a talented jewellery designer is truly remarkable. After dedicating 15 years to private legal practice, Melanie’s passion for jewellery-making blossomed from a mere hobby into a thriving business.  Her unique creations quickly gained attention, leading to remarkable opportunities that shaped her brand’s success.

Now the Dromore boutique is set to welcome in its second year with a fashion led event at Dromore Elim Church in September. But where did it all begin?

In 2011, Melanie took a bold step by showcasing her creativity in the West Coast Cooler Citra Showcase with a stunning cuff design adorned with intricate costume beads. This daring move set the stage for her future in the jewellery industry. The following year, Melanie’s talent shone even brighter when she crafted a bespoke necklace for Dame Mary Peters, a momentous occasion at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

Fast forward to 2021, and Melanie’s dreams materialised with the opening of her Dromore Studio, a hub of creativity and innovation. The launch of her new brand, ‘Wearable Truth’, in a dazzling fashion show in Belfast marked a significant milestone in her career. The subsequent year saw Melanie’s expansion with a new shop on Bridge Street in Dromore, solidifying her presence in the local community.

As the first anniversary of Melanie Bond Boutique approaches, the celebration is elevated with the introduction of a new jewellery line created for the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum. Melanie’s collaboration with the museum showcases her deep connection to her roots, as a former pupil of Friends’ School Lisburn. The jewellery collection, blending Irish linen elements with her signature style, is a testament to her creativity and commitment to her craft.

Wearable Truth

A spokesperson for Lisburn and Castlereagh Council said; Our teams commissioned Melanie Bond, a former pupil of Friends’ School Lisburn, to create a jewellery collection incorporating Irish linen elements. These unique items can be bought from our Visitor Centre gift shop within the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum”.

Melanie’s ‘Wearable Truth’ pieces not only exude elegance but also carry messages of hope and inspiration. Each piece, meticulously designed with vintage typewriter lettering with heartfelt messages such as ‘Welcome Home’, ‘May the road rise up to meet you’, and ‘Home is where the heart is’, linen, crystal, metal, and wood elements, encapsulates timeless truths meant to uplift and empower those who wear them. The collaboration with the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum demonstrates Melanie’s artistry and her ability to infuse meaningful storytelling into her creations.

Now, as the boutique celebrates a highly successful first year in Dromore town centre you are invited along to a special event.
