The annual concert “Christmas Carols from St. Mark’s” has long been a cherished highlight in the Portadown Christmas event calendar, and this year, it makes a much-anticipated return on Friday, 6th December.
For over two decades, this concert has been a staple in the festive calendar, running for 21 years before the pandemic disrupted its tradition. During that time, it raised an impressive £100,000 for various local charities, showcasing the power of music to bring people together for a good cause.
This year’s concert which marks the 25th anniversary promises to be a memorable occasion as the Portadown Ladies Choir joins forces with the Portadown Male Voice Choir, with St. Mark’s Church poised to be filled with beautiful harmonies.
Established in 1926, the Portadown Male Voice Choir proudly holds the title of the oldest male voice choir in Ireland. With nearly a century of musical tradition, this choir has become an integral part of the cultural fabric of Portadown and the wider community.
